Village Adoption

In 2015, Maharashtra experienced a severe drought, leading to a critical water shortage in both urban and rural areas. As a socially responsible organization, Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal quickly recognized the dire conditions in the villages and decided to take action. The Mandal adopted Khandobawadi, a hamlet of 1,000 villagers located in Pathardi taluka of Ahmednagar district.
To provide immediate relief, the Mandal appealed to devotees to donate one fistful of food grain during the Ganpati festival. The Mandal matched these donations, providing the villagers with enough food to survive the difficult times.
Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal also launched a long-term plan to benefit the entire village.
The following activities have been undertaken so far:
  • Constructing a one-lakh-liter water tank
  • Building homes for the homeless
  • Donating computers for the youth
  • Donating gym equipment to promote better health among the youth
  • Donating clothes and food grains for an extended period
  • Providing support to list the village in the Pradhanmantri Gram Sadak Yojna and other governmental schemes
  • Installing water ATMs
These initiatives have significantly improved the living conditions in Khandobawadi, demonstrating the Mandal’s commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.

Student Adoption

Shri Kasba Ganpati Samajik Sanstha, the social arm of Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal, adopts financially-challenged students each year and helps cover a portion of their educational expenses for one academic year. This initiative is known as the Student Adoption Program.
Every year, Shri Kasba Ganpati Samajik Sanstha appeals to citizens, who actively participate in this program. The financial aid provided helps students attend school like their peers and complete their studies. Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal has been organizing the Student Adoption Program for over 21 years.
The program supports students from 5th to 10th grade studying in Marathi medium schools. With the financial aid, students can cover
part of their educational fees. Additionally, the Mandal donates a stationery kit to each student, which includes notebooks, pencils, and other educational materials. The number of students benefiting from this program has been steadily increasing each year. The Mandal also maintains detailed records and has established a unique system to track the progress of each student who receives this benefit.
Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal continually finds innovative ways to increase literacy levels in society. Recently, the Mandal started donating newspapers specifically designed for school-going students, promoting both reading and education.

Library for Children

Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal is committed to promoting reading within the community, believing that the habit should start from childhood. With this vision, the Mandal established a library specifically designed for children in 2012. Since its inception, the library has seen a steady increase in both its collection of books and its number of subscribers.

Houdat Visarjan

It is believed that Lord Ganpati visits us every year. Thus, on the last day of the Ganpati festival, the idol is traditionally immersed in water. However, this practice has a significant environmental impact and requires a substantial amount of water. In 2015, Maharashtra experienced very little rainfall and faced a severe water shortage. As a socially responsible organization, Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal appealed to citizens to immerse the Ganpati idol on the 10th day of the festival in a water tank instead of the river. Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandal led by example, immersing the idol of Lord Shri Kasba Ganpati in a tank. This appeal had a significant impact on society and was followed by millions of devotees, helping to save water and conserve the environment. This practice has now become a tradition.
